July 5  Norwegian Cruise Line Epic ...

  After laundry and packing (and last minute free wifi in the apartment), we were ready to head to the port of Barcelona to embark on our 7-day western Mediterranean cruise on NCL Epic.  Built in 2010, Epic is in the "mega-class" with 155,873 GT tonnage, 4100 passengers, 1708 crews, 1081 ft in length, 200 ft in height, and 19 decks.  We booked a 2-bedroom Haven suite, which has exclusive access to the Haven courtyard and private gym, lounge, and restaurant.
  

July 6  At Sea ...

  W had a full day at sea to try a few different activities on board including our first family studio shots. 
  

We went to the  SVEDKA Ice Bar in the afternoon.  It cost $20 for 3 drinks per person (non-alcoholic drinks were available so Iris could also enjoy).  However, the parka jackets provided could not really withhold the 17 degree F low temperature so we were all shivering and finished our drinks quickly ...
