Suprisingly, Provia100F scanned by Nikon 4000 (14-bit @ 4000dpi with auto-focus, which I have been using for years) is the worst in my opinion (even worse than G2). The original slide was perfect sharp under 4x loupe on my light table (and I took all pictures based on my usual practice: tripod, mirror lock-up, and self-timer). More pixels provided by scanner do not necessarily have more information. I know it is hard to make conclusion just based on one image comparison. It may be the scanner was out of focus a bit for this scan. G2 has too much artifact when the unsharp mask is applied, which means G2 must have already done enough post-processing (sharpening) in camera. D60 is the clear winner in this comparison, and I am happy now.
Here is 2nd image comparison between D60 and scanned Provia100F.
